In Loving Memory ~
On the morning of November 14th the heart of our family, our mom Georgie Lamb of Lake Cowichan, passed away at 91 years young.
Born in Saskatchewan, she was the last survivor of 11 siblings. She was athletic in her early years, which led her to be a devoted supporter of all the arts and sports of her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Not to mention her love of TV sports, especially the Vancouver Canucks!
A big part of Mom's life was her love of music, and volume was never an issue. 'Gramma Lamma' always welcomed everyone into her immaculate home where she filled your heart... as well as your appetite.
Mom married Tommy Lamb at the age of 16 and they raised us, 6 little lambs in Lake Cowichan at the foot of the renowned 'Lamb's Hill.'
She was predeceased by our dad, Tommy, in 1996.
She is survived by her loving partner, Wieber and his children (Sue, Stacey and their families). She is also survived by her children and their families, Sally (Randy, Justine, Chad), Judi (Carli/ Greg, Lonni/Glen), Cathy (Dan, Chelsea/Ryan), Rick (Joanne, Clayton), Jim (Tracy, Toby), Jackie (Sheldon, Hailey/Brandon, Mackenzie), and her 9 cherished great-grandchildren.
It is difficult to articulate our gratitude for the exceptional care Mom received from the kind-hearted individuals at Cowichan Hospice, Victoria General Hospital, and The Diocese of Victoria. Her support came from a large team of doctors, nurses, care aides, specialists, family members, and clergy, and we will be eternally thankful for their dedication.
Funeral Mass will be Friday, November 29th at 10 am at St. Edward's Catholic Church (2085 Maple Bay Road, Duncan). A light reception will follow in the Church basement.
We will deeply miss our mom and are comforted that her steadfast love of God will grant her eternal peace.
We are truly grateful for all the love and support you have shown. If you wish to honour Mom in a special way, we kindly ask you to consider making a donation to Cowichan Hospice instead of sending flowers.
