Michael Graham

Graham passed away peacefully on December 4th, 2003 after a short, brave struggle with cancer. Graham will live on in the hearts and memories of his loving wife Dorothy, son Brad and Fiona, son Scot and Jill, daughter Jennifer and Kenton; grandchildren Aidan, Erin and Lucus; sister Christine and Bill Simpson and their family. Graham will be missed by all the family and friends who knew and loved him. Graham was born February 23rd, 1940 in Victoria, then moved to Whitehorse until age 6. He returned to live in Victoria until he was 16, then moved to Chemainus and attended school in Ladysmith. Graham enjoyed a varied and interesting career. He worked for Island Tug in Victoria, followed by Chemainus Towing where he became a master by age 25. Graham was a dispatcher before being company manager for several years. During the latter years of his career he was a marine surveyor for the Federal government until retirement in 2000. Graham belonged to the Masonic Lodge #114, the Chemainus Rotary Club and the Harbourview Housing Society. His many hobbies included music, woodworking, golf, swimming, skiing, camping and traveling. His greatest joy was spending time with his beloved family and friends. A service to honour Graham will be held on Tuesday, December 9th at 1:00 pm at St. Michaels and All Angels in Chemainus. Donations to the Canadian Cancer Society gratefully accepted in Graham’s memory.
