Muriel Denese Ordano (Richmond) born in Nanaimo, BC died peacefully in Cowichan District Hospital surrounded by her family.

Married 60 years, she is survived by the love of her life Jack James Ordano, her daughters Gail Ordano, Wendy Scott and Cindy Mountain (John) as well as her 5 grandchildren, Raymond (Sue), John (Kandice), Keri (Justin), Brianne (Ian), and Allison (Brant), and 9 great-grandchildren, Jack, MacKenna, Marshall, Zoey, Dean, Jacob, Maxim, Landon, and Allison.

She was predeceased by her infant daughter Holly, father and mother Walter and Florence Richmond (McDonald), step-mother Eva (Valley), and sisters Elaine and Lynne (Cornett), but is survived by her brothers Lorne Richmond and Wayne Richmond (Harmina). Remembered as Aunty Moo, Muriel leaves behind maternal nieces and nephews Marlene Calendar; Troy, Tracy and Todd; Peter and Kathy; and Barry, Debbie, Sherri-Dawn, and Grant.

Muriel leaves behind many treasured friends and an extended family who will remember her for her kindness, sense of fairness and love of family.

The family would like to provide heartfelt thanks to both Dr. Fazil and Dr. George for their wonderful support and expert attention, and offers their appreciation and special thanks to the remarkable nursing teams on the 3rd Floor and in the ICU for their kindness and the wonderful care they provided to Muriel at Cowichan District Hospital.

In keeping with Muriel’s wish for a quiet and private gathering of remembrance, there will be no open memorial service. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation are greatly appreciated.
