FOSTER, NORMAN CLEMENT, DOUGLAS

(The Pie Man)

November 8th 1921 -

May 13th 2007.

Norman FOSTER passed away peacefully in his sleep with his sons at his side at the Ladysmith Hospital on May 13th 2007. Norm was predeceased by his wife of 54 years Clara in 2001, his sisters Dorothy, Ada, Agnes, Ella and his brothers Leonard and James. Norman was born and raised in Coombs and was a member of one of the first pioneer families to settle in the area. He was the last of his family generation to pass on. Norman moved his family to Ladysmith in 1966 for work and remained there until his passing. Norman retired in 1986 and he and Clara spent their time golfing camping and making pies to sell at the end of the driveway. Another of his outdoor passions was his garden and flowers. These were of great pride to him as nary a weed or bloom went unattended. Norman is survived by his two sons Bill of North Vancouver and Robin

(Susan) and his two grandchildren Ryan and Carly Foster of Port Alberni. A memorial service will be held at the Yates Funeral Service and Crematorium in Parksville on May 22nd at 3:00pm. Light refreshments will follow. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the charity of your choice. Those wishing to send condolences to the family may do so by emailing to:
