Orville Reece

Orville Reece Waddle was born September 1, 1923 in Retlaw, Alberta, passed away in Claresholm General Hospital on July 7, 2003. He attended Lone Star School until he completed grade eight, and quit to work on the farm. From 1945 to 1951 he was employed at the Canadian Sugar Factory during campaign. It was here that he met LaVore Kesler and they were married February 25, 1947 in Lethbridge Alberta. In 1951, he moved to Vauxhall where he was employed as a truck driver hauling heavy equipment for the P.F.R.A. In 1968, the family moved to Taber, Alberta, where he drove a truck for Koch Oil. The move to Ladysmith, British Columbia took place in 1973 where he drove a chip truck for Doman Transport. Orville retired in 1988 and returned to Alberta in 1993, settling in Claresholm where he resided until his passing. He leaves to mourn his wife LaVore of fifty-six years, son David (Darlene), Taber Alberta, daughters: Donna (Jack) Cross of Chemainus, BC, Marlene Buckanan, Oakville Ontario, Shirley (Michael) Harrington, Burnaby BC and Kathy (Norm) Udahl, Ladysmith, BC as well as eleven grandchildren and seventeen great-grandchildren. Orville will be sadly missed by his sisters; Effie (Charles) Burge, Lethbridge, AB, Mytle Johnson, Lethbridge AB, Dorothy Harden, Wetaskawin AB, Ella McKellar, Brooks and Mildred West, Taber AB. He was predeceased by his parents Ed and Nellie Waddle, an infant son Donald, sister and brother-in-law; Fern and Ted Malmberg, brother and sister-in-law; Glen and Marie Waddle, brother Herbert (Bud) Waddle as well as brothers-in-law; Lloyd West, Lloyd Johnson, Ray Harden and Alex McKellar. Orville enjoyed gardening and especially looked forward to the Annual Family Reunions. His grandchildren and great-grandchildren were a special joy to him throughout his life. He was a long-time member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles, Aerie 210 of Ladysmith, BC. He enjoyed the many bus trips he and Lavore took, especially the one given to them by their children for their fiftieth wedding anniversary in 1997. Memorial service was held at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, Claresholm, on Tuesday, July 15, 2003 at 2:30 pm with Bishop Mark Stubbs officiating.
