September 26, 1918 - March 7, 2004. Pat was a long time resident of Nanaimo. She passed away peacefully Sunday, March 7, 2004 at Malaspina Gardens, Nanaimo, B.C.

Born Florence Patricia Jones, the fourth child to David and Alice (Nicholson) Jones, September 26, 1918 in Rossland, B.C. She lost her mother at the age of six weeks in the flu epidemic of 1918. Pat was raised by Maude and Jim Hardy of Rossland, B.C. During the Second World War, she served as a quarter master in the Canadian Army being stationed in Victoria and Toronto. After the war she moved to Nelson, B.C. and worked for Kootenay Lake General Hospital. It was in Nelson that she met her husband David Walsh and they married April 20, 1949 in Proctor, B.C. They lived in the Kootenays where their seven children were born, then moving to Nanaimo, B.C. in 1963. Pat is predeceased by her parents, adoptive parents, sister Ruth, brother Russell. Survived by and dearly missed by David Walsh, her 7 children: Margaret (Ray) Perrey, Patty Daley, Kathy (Brian) Mayes, Russell (Karen) Walsh, Tommy (Kendra Ohama) Walsh, Rosemary (Pat) Quin, David (Lois Greenslade) Walsh, and 13 grandchildren: Raelyn, and Dean Perrey, Myrosha, Kira and Sascha Daley, Jada (Mike) Tourand, Emma Mayes, Kimberley, Murray Walsh, Janine (Mike Wetzel) Quin, Riley Quin, Rainee Bartleman, Jamie Walsh and 2 great grandchildren: Julia Tourand and Tyler Wetzel. Also her sister Lorna Wenzel, many nieces and nephews and dear friends. Funeral Mass of the Resurrection was celebrated at the Chapel of Bethlehem Retreat Centre, 2371 Arbot Rd., Nanaimo B.C., Thursday, March 11, 2004 at 2:30 p.m. Fr. Oscar Paradeso Celebrant.
