Ralph passed away peacefully at home in Nanaimo, B.C., amongst his loving family. Predeceased by his baby son, Rodney, his parents, Carl and Anna, his 3 sisters, Ruth, Gertrude, and Lillian, and his 2 brothers, Chris and Melvin. Ralph is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Bertha. His children, Dianne (Ray) Folster, Marilyn (Evan) Camp, Sonny (Vivian) Olson, David (Lorraine) Olson, Kevin (Brenda) Olson, and Melody (Stuart) Allen. He had 9 Granddaughters, and 9 Grandsons and 20 Great-grandchildren. He also has 3 Brothers in-law and 4 sisters in-laws plus numerous nieces and nephews living.

Ralph was born in Gem (Bassano), Alberta and moved to Hoadley, Alberta, where he grew up on the family farm. Ralph and his loving wife, Bertha, were married in Rimbey, Alberta on November 15, 1950. They lived in Albe rta where they started their family and had their first 6 children. They moved to Ladysmith, B. C. in September 1965, 2 years later their youngest child was born. Ralph worked most of his life in the plumbing and heating business. Ralph enjoyed the outdoors and loved the ocean, (and the Island in general), but most of all he loved his family. A celebration of his life will be held at the Eagles Hall in Ladysmith, B.C. at 1:00 pm  on Thursday, December 15th, followed by a tea. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to the Lung Association.
