Richard Emmet

passed away in Ladysmith, B.C. on June 27, 2004.

Born in Spalding District, Saskatchewan, April 1, 1916 to parents Nels and Jorgina Voldeng. He lived and farmed in Naicum District, Saskatchewan, and married wife Alice October 26, 1939 in Spalding. They had two sons: Larry Elwood and Merlin Emmet.

Richard spent time in Sherritt Gordon, Manitoba working in the Nickel Mine, later moving to Trail, B.C. in 1951. Richard worked in an autobody shop and He moved to Prince George, B.C. to join his two sons in 1972. He worked for 10 years with N.C.P. retiring in 1987, and recently moved to Ladysmith, B.C.

Predeceased by his son Merlin in 1984.

Survived by his loving wife Alice of 64 years, son Larry (Shirley), grandchildren Deborah, Rinas, Danny Jarvis, Laura (Darrin) Jacobs, Dale (Angela) Voldeng, great-grandchildren: Shawna, Alicia, Miranda, Jeremy; step grandchildren: Joanann and Jeff, great grandchildren: Amanda, Jennifer, Eric, Chelsea, Tyler and Britney, two great-great grandchildren.

Graveside Service Wednesday, June 30, 2004 at 11:00 am in Ladysmith Cemetery.

Arrangements entrusted to Telford’s Mid-Island Memorial Services.
