Born December 29, 1901, died January 18, 2002 (at age 100). Ruby passed away peacefully in the extended care unit of the Ladysmith & District Hospital with Irene & Don, Ken & Bonnie at her bedside.
She was born in Cornwall Idaho, USA., came to Canada in 1912 to Maple Creek Sask., eventually moving to Lake Cowichan where she resided until having to live in Ladysmith. She belonged to the Glee Club and Old Age Pensioners Clubs.
Predeceased by her husband Leonard in 1975. Survived by her sister Alice Erickson in Surrey and her seven children Allen (Myrna) Lake Cowichan, Les (Loraine) Burnaby, Alice Nystrom (Al Legendre) Anglemont, Bea (Vern) Fauteaux, Maple Ridge; Irene (Don) Leischner, Ladysmith; Ken (Bonnie), Duncan; Stan (Carol) Gibsons, 25 grandchildren, 47 great grandchildren, 6 great-great grandchildren.
There will be a graveside service at Forest Lawn Cemetery at 3789 Royal Oak Ave., Burnaby at 1:00 pm February 1, 2002. There will also be a memorial and refreshments at the Legion Hall at 5289 Grimmer St., Burnaby at 2:00 pm, also February 1, 2002.
