Ronald Allen McLEAN

passed away peacefully into the Lord’s presence from Traveler’s Lodge October 26, 2006.

Ron was born in Red Deer, Alberta on September 19, 1928.

He taught school in Napa, Alberta and it was during this time he felt the call of God to become a full time pastor. Ron studied at the Canadian Bible College in Regina, where he met his sweetheart Pauline, they were married in June 1956, and together they served Christian and Alliance churches for 37 years. Ron was an ordained minister and pastored churches in Arcola, Sask., Midland, Ont., Hamilton Ont., Morristown, New Jersey, Owen Sound, Ont., and here in Nanaimo. Pastor Ron will be remembered by his parishoners for his sense of humor, his love of God and his care for them. It was his passionate desire that they know Jesus in a personal way, as he did. In each of the cities where he served, he was involved in the Evangelical Ministerial Associations, and was often invited as a visiting Pastor to preach in local churches. Ron will be greatly missed by his wife of 50 years Pauline, two sons: David, Mark (Lauri), a daughter Sharon (Larry) and one grandson his bike riding buddie Erik Jessen, also a brother Bill (Lena) and 2 sisters: Thelma Oliver and Phyllis McLean as well as 1 niece and 6 nehews.

Interment will take place at 11:00 am, November 1st, 2006, at Cedar Valley Memorial Gardens for family and friends, with a celebration of Pastor Ron’s Life to follow at 1:00 pm, at the Departure Bay Baptist Church with a reception to follow.
