On Oct 25, 2010 Shirley (Mom) left us in the same manner in which she lived with us … with grace and dignity. Shirley is predeceased by her father, Roy Bowers, her sister, Marie Black and her mother, Ruby Charde and is survived by her children Sheryl, Mark and Roy McDougald and her granddaughter Melissa McDougald. Aunt Shirley is missed deeply by her nieces and nephews Colleen (Deederley), Tracy (Fulton), David (Deederley), Carrie (Ng), Dana (Kolosoff) and John (Fulton) and more great nieces and nephews.
Shirley’s life journeys took her from Vancouver to Portland, Ore, New Westminster, BC, Clinton, BC, Port Alice, BC, Ladysmith, BC, and finally Ladner, BC. She was an avid reader and traveller. Her wisdom and counsel was like no other.
Shirley spent most of her recent years with her many close and loving friends at the McKee Seniors Recreation Centre. A ‘Gathering of Remembrance’ will be held at the Kin House (next to McKee Centre) at 5050 47 Ave, Ladner, BC on Sat Nov 06, 2010 from 1:00pm to 3:30pm. Please join us for afternoon tea and memories.
