STEVEN JOHN BOUTHILLIER
(Jan 9, 1978 – Mar 2, 2008)
Steve was born in Duncan, BC. He left us suddenly on March 2, 2008 through a tragic car accident. His body, lost for over ten months, was miraculously
recovered from the waters of Cowichan Bay on Friday, January 16, 2009. He was predeceased by his grandmother, Frances Kuipers (2001). Steve is survived by his parents, Paul and Irene Bouthillier; Sisters: Elaine
Bouthillier (Shawn) and Denise (Travis) Cnossen; Grandparents: John and Dianne Bouthillier and Jerry Kuipers. Aunts: Denise Bouthillier (Bob); Jane (Bill) Bomhof; Wendy Shaw (Gord); and Francine Kuipers (Phil). Uncles: Maurice (Jayne)
Bouthillier and Rick Kuipers
(Nicole). Cousins: Tara (Jeff) Howard, Julie Bomhof, Collin McEwan (Alex), John (Kristen) Bomhof, Jeremy Bomhof (Tara), Erin Shaw (Tyler), Lora Shaw (Jeff), Calvin Kuipers, Drew Kuipers, Keenan Tiefert. He considered Chemainus to be his hometown. “Boots” stuck as his nickname but was only one of among many that he was tagged with. He had a great sense of humor. At the egg plant where he worked he was considered to be a “good egg.” He wore his heart on his sleeve and was a true friend to many.
His memorial service took place on March 15, 2008. A private service will be held at a later date. We would like to thank everyone for the kindness and the support we received during this difficult time.
