February 4, 1945 - March 3, 2019
It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of our dear Mother, Valerie Morgan, on Sunday March 3, 2019. Mourning her loss are, daughter, Shelley (Pat) Miller, son, Dean (Christine) Morgan, grandchildren; Genni (Eric), James Dean, Ashley, great grandchildren; Allan, Anthony, Randy and Sophia; Brother, Lindsay (June) Munro, sisters, Elaine (Reg) Warner, Vivian (Colin) Cameron and many nieces and nephews, cousins, aunts and uncle.
Valerie was predeceased by her husband of 53 years; Larry; her parents; Jack & Margaret Battie, sister Glenda Patterson, and grandson Jamie Hewitt. Born Feb 4th 1945 in Grantown On Spey, Scotland. She travelled across the Atlantic to Canada on the Mauratania arriving at the tender age of 1 year. She was our "Lucille Ball" making us all laugh at her antics. Val met the love of her life, Larry during high school and they married July 20 1963. She worked at Knight's Hardware until her first child was born and then again part-time. Val was happiest at home with her family.
A celebration of Life will be held at the Eagles Hall, Ladysmith, BC on Saturday March 23, 2019 from 1 - 4 pm.
We would like to thank family and friends for their love and support during this difficult time, Dr. Julian Lisinski, the nurses and staff at the Oyster Harbour Senior Community for their kindness shown to our Mom and sister.
