Violet Croudace ROOT (nee Chillman)

born in Edmonton, Alberta 1913. Mom closed her eyes peacefully on January 2, 2002 and opened them again to be in the presence of her Lord who now cradles her in his arms, her soul resting in peace. Her gentleness, kindness and warmth will be missed by all who knew and loved her.

Her passing leaves Ross Sheldon Root, her husband of 62 years, two sons Gary (Barbara), Terry (Sheryl), and six grandchildren; Kevin, Shauna, Darrin, Dallas, Kurtis, Elisa, two great grandchildren Eden and Julian, sister-in-law Pearl Moorehouse, nieces, nephews and cousins and a lifetime of very special friends. We all cherish Mom’s memory and praise God for the lasting blessing she has been to each of us.

Mom attended Edmonton Normal School and taught in Northern Alberta, prior to her marriage to Ross, and moved to Ladysmith in 1939. She retired after teaching kindergarten in Nanaimo for 12 years.

The Root famly wish to thank and acknowledge the wonderful love, care and support Violet and the family recieved from the staff at the new Nanaimo Seniors Village, and previosly Berwick on the Lake and Travellers Lodge.
