It is with deep sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Vi Seaton (Foster) on August 5, 2004. Vi was born in Nanaimo on January 21, 1912 and was predeceased by her loving husband, Pete in 2000, brothers William (Sonny) and Jack Foster and sisters Lorna and Hilda. She is survived by daughters Barbara Rive (Doug) of Victoria and Wendy Seaton (Murray) of Maple Ridge; grand-daughters Linda (Dave), Catherine (David) and great grandsons Troy, Ryan, Kyle, Ripley and Noah. Vi is also survived by sister Vernice Andow, sisters-in-law Jean Foster and Agnes Lafek, brother-in-law Gordon Marwick and many nieces and nephews. Vi has resided in Ladysmith since her marriage to Pete in 1935 and has been an active member of the community until shortly before her passing. She was a life member and Past Grand Factor of the Native Daughters of B.C., member of the First United Church Women's Auxiliary, the Ladysmith Hospital Auxiliary and the OAP. She also spent many enjoyable Tuesday evenings with her sewing "girls". Vi touched many lives throughout her 92 year journey and will be sorely missed by her family and many friends. A celebration of her life will be held Wednesday, August 11 at 2:00 pm at the Ladysmith United Church (High Street). Donations may be made in her memory to the BC Heart and Stroke Foundation.
