JACKSON,

W.S. Stonewall

Born August 16, 1914.

Our father passed away on May 15, 2003 from pulmonary disease. Orphaned at age three, he stayed 7 years in the Vancouver Children’s Aid Society home. He was fostered to the Morgans of Saltair where he grew up working on their farm.

While serving with the Royal Canadian Artillery n England and France during WW II he met and married Rebecca, his first wife. Predeceased by Rebecca and two children, Michelle and Douglas. Survived by children Moira, Stanny, Norman and Derek. Predeceased by his second wife Muriel (Hickman) mother of stepsons Tom, Ken and Chuck. A longshoreman for 33 years, he loved gardening, fishing at the old Oak Bay Boathouse, and was a long time member of the Gorge Vale Golf Club. Dad was a story-teller extraordinaire and enjoyed walking around Victoria talking to everyone and anyone. Our family want to thank all of the neighbours and friends who looked after and helped Dad during his illness. Special thanks to Dr. F.W. Vaughan, Wayne and the staff at Jubilee Pharmasave, the Home Care Nurses, Veterans Affairs staff, and Victoria Hospice.

No service by his request. Donations can be made to the Upper Room, 919 Pandora Ave, Victoria, B.C. V8V 3P4 or Victoria Hospice, 1952 Bay St., Victoria, B.C., V8S 3A9.
