passed away peacefully at CDH January 25th, 2005. Born February 1, 1927 in Nanaimo, BC.
Predeceased by his dad Fred, mom Helen, and brother Frank,
Bill will be sadly missed by his loving wife June; children Leanna (Ben), Bobby, Eunice (Gordie); step-children Bernice, Sharon (Dave), Andy (Catherine), and Chris; 16 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
Bill is survived by his sister Bev Smith and brother Dahms (Yvonne) Nicholson.
A Native Son and former volunteer fireman for Northfield Fire Department, Bill was born and raised in Nanaimo.
Bill was passionate about being a truck driver. He started driving logging trucks at the age of 16 and continued driving trucks all over the Island, until he retired at 65 from Hearsey Transport.
The family extends a special thank you to Dr. W.E. Fritz, who Bill thought the world of and to the nursing staff on 2nd floor south.
A celebration of Bill’s life will be held Friday, February 4th from 1-3 pm at the Royal Canadian Legion (Upstairs Hall) 621 First Avenue, Ladysmith.
