William (Bill) Norman John Cross
December 9, 1932 – December 25, 2010
Bill hitched a ride with Old St. Nick to be dropped off in heaven at 3:15 am Christmas morning. Bill was ready for the next part of his journey. Bill is survived by his wife of 40 years, Doris, daughters, Tracy & Debbie, Son, Daniel, daughter, Tammie, grandchildren, Brianne and Corey, sisters, Shirley Armitage (Jack), Darlene Cross (Kathy), brothers, Kenny (Heather) & Norman (Dorothy). He is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. In addition to his parents Harold & Mary, he is preceded in death by granddaughter, Kayla, sister, Alice Hallstrom, brother, Stan (Denise), step mom, Ruth, uncles, Bill & Paul Radovich.
Bill lived all his life in Ladysmith he enjoyed and excelled in all sports and card games, fishing and hunting were also a passion. After retiring as a Longshoreman, Bill & Doris enjoyed travelling each winter to Arizona.
We will all miss this caring and loving man.
A private family gathering will be held at the Ladysmith Cemetery. His celebration of life tea will be held Thursday, January 6th at 2pm at the Eagles Hall on 1st Avenue, Ladysmith BC.
His family requests in lieu of flowers, donations are sent to the Chemainus Health Care Centre.
A special thank you to all the nurses and staff for the exceptional care of Bill and his family while we were at the Chemainus Health Care Centre. We thank you from the bottom of our hearts.
