William Ernest BENNETT

passed away suddenly on July 26, 2005. Bill will be grately missed by his wife of 54 years, Grace; his children Ron (Karen), Deb (Alex); his loving grandchildren Keynan, Kelsey,

Graham and Amelia; his son-in-law Jim; and his many other relatives and close friends. Bill was predeceased by his daughter Laura.

Born on June 28, 1930 in Carmen, Manitoba, Bill grew up in Winnipeg. He had a long career at Manitoba Telephone System before retiring to Ladysmith, B.C. in 1987. Bill was an avid outdoorsman who had many interests including fishing, canoeing, sailing, hunting, camping, snowmobiling and curling. These activities were enjoyed during summers at Bird Lake and winters at Badger. In his retirement, he love boating on Tarka, playing bridge, woodworking and building and crashing model airplanes. Bill lived each and every day to the fullest right to the very end.

A celebration of Bill’s life was held on Saturday, July 30, 2005 at First United Church, Ladysmith, B.C., Rev. Doug Astel officiated.

The family wishes to extend their thanks to the staff of Nanaimo District Hospital, in particular for the thoughtful care in the rehabilitation unit.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
