Bill passed away peacefully in Royal Jubilee Hospital June 30, 2005, with his family at his side. Predeceased by parents William & Mather, brothers Gerald and James, and wife June.
Survived by his loving wife Nan, sister Zena Bruce (Jim), brother Alex (Pearl), children Melony Scott (Nate), Randy Brown (Suzanne), Darlene Paulson (Greg), and grandchildren Melinda (Aaron), Josh, Christie (Mike), Allison, Amber. Extended family Jane (Gord), John (Marta), Johnny, and Kera. Many nieces and nephews.
Born in Ladysmith, BC. Bill was a devoted father and husband. Bill worked in the logging industry, was overseas during World War II, and returned to Holland for the 60th VE Celebrations. Past Master of St. John's Masonic Lodge #21 and member of Legion Branch #171. He loved fishing, golf and traveling.
Bill believed in giving to the community and was an active volunteer. He will be remembered for his great sense of humor, family gatherings, warm smile, open heart and the best fish and chips.
A Celebration of Bill's Life will be held Sunday, July 10, 2005 at 12 noon in St. Mary's Church Hall, 4th Avenue, Ladysmith, BC.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Bill's memory to the Heart & Stroke Foundation or a charity of choice, with appreciation.
Bill will be missed by all those he touched. many thanks to Dr. Kennedy and staff at Hillside Medical Centre and for all the good care and kindness given to Bill.
