William Morley CHANDLER

February 19, 2005

Passed away peacefully at Nanaimo Hospital on February 19, 2005, born November 19 (17), 1924, in Benjamin River, New Brunswick. Bill entered the Canadian Armed Forces at the age of 17, and served as a Sergeant overseas in World War II. He served on the executive of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 171 and was a Ways and Means member for many years, he also achieved a Lifetime Membership, Metorious Service and Palm Leaf, a member of the Legion 171 Drum and Belle Corp. Bill was also a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles, the Knights of Columbus and the Mt. Brenton Power and Sail Squadron. He was predeceased by his daughter Cheryl Anne, brothers: Harry and Dawson and sisters: Ida, Marie and Queenie. He is greatly missed by his loving wife Eileen of 59 years, sons: Morley (Paulette), Gary (Pattira), (Nichole) and Glen (Karen), brother Robert (Rita) and sisters: Blanche (Cecil), and Audrey (Al), 10 grandchildren: Greg (Laura), Anna (Kevin), WIllow (Java), Tyler (Heather), Christine, Martin, Alena, Allan (Tracy), Brad and Craig (Courtnay), 4 great-grandchildren: Jamie, Ocean, Smith and Walker. Also many nieces and nephews and friends. Bill will be remembered for his great sense of humour and constant joking and his willingness to always offer a helping hand. Prayers Friday, February 25, 2005 at 7:00 pm in St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Fourth Ave. Memorial Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, February 26, 2005 at 11:00 am in St. Mary’s Church, Father Joe Rossitier celebrant. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Heart, Cancer or the R.C.L. Branch 171 would be appreciated.
