Survived by his wife of 33 years Terri (Teresa Mrus), companion, fishing partner, best friend.
Predeceased by his parents Sully and Lillian Hill, long time residents of Chase River.
Bill leaves behind his sister Sally and brother-in-law Gilles of Nanaimo, mother-in-law Joan Mrus. Bill's brother-in-laws Doug Copp, Ken, David and Peter Mrus, and sister-in-law Shirley Mrus, numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
Bill loved the outdoors and nature, and many precious pets over the years. He loved science fiction and learning about and imagining the nature of the universe.
He could be a dreamer and a pragmatist at the same time. Bill was a 45 year employee of the Regional District in various capacities keeping things running. The last 20 years at the landfill site as chief operator of equipment and maintenance. He loved his work and the many people he worked with over the years. He will be remembered as a mentor in environmental protection and safety.
No service by request. There will be a casual drop-in gathering at the North Oyster Community Hall November 30, 2019 from 2 to 5 pm
Flowers gratefully declined. Donations in Bill's memory may be made to the Nanaimo Hospital Foundation.
