passed away October 21st, 2006 after a short illness in his 85th year at his home in Ladysmith on Vancouver Island, BC. Wilson was born in Woodstock, Ontario on March 21st, 1923 and raised there. Son of Elsie Jane (Ross) and Charles Raymond Ransome of Woodstock, Ontario.
Wilson was the eldest of three brothers, he was predeceased by his brothers.
A survivor of the WWII HMCS Louisburg sinking, February 6th, 1943. Wilson eventually settled in Amherstburg, Ontario and raised 5 kids with his beloved wife Betty (Elizabeth Brown of Amherstburg).
He owned several businesses and historic buildings, in the area included the Marshland Pheasant farm, Past & Present Antique & Gift. His passion for old books and Canadian history stayed with him till his last days.
Wilson was a dear father to Robin, Jon, Rusty (predeceased) and the twins Douglas & Kevin.
Memorial services were held in Ladysmith BC on November 1st, 2006 with the interment to follow in Amherstburg.
