passed away in Vancouver General Hospital suddenly on December 7, 2004, after a traffic mishap in Nanaimo, B.C., on December 6, 2004. Born in Nanaimo, B.C. on March 23, 1917. Predeceased by her loving husband Jock in 1963.
Survived by her loving family Mary and Joseph McLellan, grandchildren Ula and Ian (Melissa), great-grandchildren Zachary and Hanna, (who she loved so much).
Winnie was involved with the Nanaimo Rock Hound Club, Nanaimo Arts Council, Canada China Friendship Association, awarded the Lieutenant Governors Award for World Citizen in 1996 for her interest in world cultures. Winnie’s love of gardening and sharing the crop was well known by her friends and neighbours. A celebration of Winnie’s life was held on Saturday, December 11, 2004 at 1:00 p.m. at Telford’s Memorial Centre 595 Townsite Rd., Nanaimo, B.C. In lieu of flowers, donations to the 7-10 Club, Loves and Fishes Foodbank, or to a charity of your choice.
