All of us receive quarterly cheques consisting of a combination of GST tax credits and B.C. carbon tax credits. These cheques are issued on Jan. 5, April 5, July 5, and Oct. 5. The April 5 cheque will be the last one with the present amount that we have been receiving.
Why? The B.C. carbon tax is on the chopping block and with that tax in place, all of us have been receiving a $504 rebate divided over four payments. That is $126 per payment. The July 5 payment will no longer have this additional $126 payment.
Just like in medications, side affects arise with every government decision.
