North Cowichan/Duncan RCMP have arrested two individuals after a manhunt in Chemainus early Friday evening, according to sources.
A heavy police presence, including as many as a dozen marked and unmarked vehicles and officers in camouflage with guns drawn, were parked along a stretch of Chemainus Road until late yesterday evening.
Police were called to the scene after reports of shots being fired before 4 p.m.
RCMP on scene at around 5:30 p.m. could not update the Chronicle about the incident and said to leave the area due to safety because it was an "active situation."
