Town of Ladysmith public hearing on marijuana sale ban rescheduled

A public hearing on a zoning bylaw amendment scheduled for Monday has been cancelled.

A Town of Ladysmith public meeting scheduled tonight as part of the city council meeting has been cancelled due to the weather conditions.

The hearing was to meant to provide residents with an opportunity to delegate on a proposed zoning bylaw amendment that would explicitly prohibit the retail sale of marijuana across town.

Ladysmith officials posted on the town's website Monday morning that the council meeting and hearing would be rescheduled to Mar. 6.

"The safety of our residents and staff is our first priority at this time," the post read.
