3 Downs, 3 Picks is a weekly CFL video breaking down news around the league and previewing the week ahead.

After 21 weeks, the CFL regular season has come to an end and it's time for the playoffs.

But before previewing the division semi-finals, let's look back at week 21 of the regular season:

  • In a game that featured nearly 1,100 yards of total offence, the Ottawa Redblacks beat the Hamilton TigerCats in a shootout, 37-31;
  • What a fourth quarter for the Edmonton Elks as they scored 21 points in the fourth quarter alone to force overtime against Toronto. But in this week’s edition of rules in the CFL that don’t make sense, Edmonton won in overtime on a walkoff punt for a rogue, winning 31-30;
  • There was a Grey Cup preview in Montreal on the final weekend of the regular season, and the game didn’t disappoint. Down 27-25, Winnipeg missed a field goal with 1:06 to go in the game, right at the exact time that a crazy windstorm blew into Montreal. At this point, it looked like it was over, but after a two and out for Montreal, punter Joe Zema miskicked a punt that bounced out of bounds and went just 21 yards, which set up Winnipeg to drill a 51-yard field goal to win it, 28-27;
  • And Calgary ended their season with a win over Saskatchewan 27-12.

As for us, Jordy went 0-3, making our season-long competition come down to the wire but Bowen went 2-3, falling just short. Jordy finished with a record of 34/63 on the year while Bowen went 33/63. Bowen won the head-to-head match-up, but Jordy won the season, 11-9 plus a tie.
