The Ladysmith 49ers Peewee U13 AA baseball team went undefeated at Zones this past weekend in Campbell River.

They faced Campbell River, Comox, Nanaimo and two teams from Victoria. After an easy 18-2 win against the Victoria Reds, the next four games were close fought, with three of the games coming down to seventh inning decisions.

The team will head to Comox on August 1 to compete in the Provincial Tournament. In their pool they will be competing against Langley, Tsawwassen, Vernon, and Aldergrove. Placings in the pool will determine who moves onto the finals.

Many of the boys played together last year on the single A U13 team where they placed 2nd in provincials after a single run loss, so they are out to take the gold this year.

Their head coach is Shawn Freer and there are 12 boys aged 11-13 from Ladysmith and Duncan.
