Sarah Kedves of Ladysmith and Lucas Pallard of Nanaimo finished 11th in Canada in novice pairs after earning personal best scores in both their short program and long program at the Canadian Tire National Skating Championships Jan. 19-25 in Kingston, Ont. They also recently found out they are finalists for the Nanaimo Sport Achievement awards in the Partners of the Year category. The awards will be presented Feb. 13.
