The Ladysmith Little Theatre is beginning its 20th season with a second run of a play that was cut short due to the COVID pandemic in 2020.

Norm Foster’s Kiss the Moon, Kiss the Sun will make its return starting Oct. 12. The play tells the story of Robert, a developmentally disabled middle-aged man, and Holly, a recently single and pregnant woman who form a “surprising bond.”

“What I love about this play is that it reminds us of what it means to be human and it takes us into the difficulties that we sometimes encounter and sometimes the only thing we can do is just roll up our sleeves and keep going,” said Josée Duffhues, the play’s director. “It’s really richly textured, funny, and just an amazing production.”

Since the first production of the play three years ago, the cast remains the same other than one change which will create an “entirely different feel” to the production, and Duffues said the cast members “are absolutely raring to go.”

Evening shows will run at 7:30 p.m. on Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays from Oct. 12 to 28 and 1: 30 p.m. matinees will be on Sundays, Oct. 15, 22 and 29. Tickets are $20 for Little Theatre members and $25 for non-members.
