Those who attend the upcoming record show in Nanaimo can rest assured that their new vinyl will be a sound purchase.
According to a release, the seventh Nanaimo Record Show returns to the Bowen Park activity centre on Sunday, April l16, and boasts 40 vendor tables from dealers across the Island and Lower Mainland.
Anticipation for the event is high, as music fans and collectors alike ponder potential offerings, signifying that interest in records is greater than it’s been in decades.
“Sales of vinyl have surpassed CDs and show no signs of slowing,” noted the release. “There are new record stores and outlets up and down the Island. The LP record is the comeback story of the last decade.”
This year’s event will offer everything from collector’s items and rare imports to albums for the “budget conscious” – CDs and cassettes are even rumoured to make an appearance.
The show will be held from 11 a.m until 4 p.m. on Sunday, April 16, at 500 Bowen Rd., with JLA Food Truck on site. General admission is $2, and children under 12 get in for free.
