The Fuller Lake Skating Club was represented by 10 competitors at the MNP Centre in Kelowna at the 2024 B.C./Yukon Super Series final.
The last competition of the 2023-2024 season is considered the provincial final and skaters from across the province took part.
The skaters got off to an early start on Thursday, March 7, turning in strong performances in freeskate at the Star 2 level, including gold for Caitlin Varcoe and silver for Isla Fink and Quinn Montgomery.
The second day of competition heated up with Naomi Ferguson and Ella Donovan completing the Star 2 freeskate group with bronze and silver awards, respectively. Also on Friday, seniors Mica Torres Hernandez and Brooklyn Puska performed their Star 7 and Star 9 freeskates. Torres Hernandez turned in a solid performance, placing 10th overall, and Puska claimed 15th.
Saturday featured senior skater Tea Searle securing 10th place in Star 4 Under 13 girls. Torres Hernandez returned to the ice in a Latin-inspired Star 8 program, finishing 11th.
Puska closed out the weekend for the Fuller Lake team on Sunday in an emotional gold artistic program and wound up 16th.
The Fuller Lake Skating Club team is proud of the achievements at this competition and the many successes throughout the season. Special thanks was expressed to the club’s many supporters and coaching staff.
The regular skating schedule continues until March 22 and culminates in the Spring Fling exhibition at Fuller Lake Arena.
