Wayne Cameron Hickman
January 10, 1952-December 24, 2016
It is with great sadness and great relief that Wayne’s family announces his brave and courageous passing at home surrounded by brother Rick and his wife Terry, sister Sharon Priest, nieces Krista Wood and Kori McCallum.
Suffering has ended and he is home with his Lord and Saviour where he longed to be. He is now whole, restored, rejoicing with loved ones mother, Betty Hickman/Gowanlock, father Tom, brother Brian, niece Kimberley, wife Andrea Toivonin.
Wayne was born in Swan River, MB, was raised and lived much of his life in Thunder Bay ON moving to Vancouver Island in the 80’s. He was a man of many talents from flea marketing, to cook extraodinaire (oh those pies and perogies), singing and playing in various bands in Ontario and Vancouver Island. He was the voice of Santa for many years to many children.
He was a resident of Duncan, BC working at various restaurants, most recently at the Arbutus Cafe where he enjoyed many friendships. Survived by. his brother Bill (Alice) Thunder Bay ,sister Sharon Priest Chemainus, brother Rick (Terry) Ladysmith and daughter Tammy Nanaimo, Andrea’s children Leah and Kaarlo, many nieces and nephews also grand nieces and grand nephews.
By request there will be no service. By request Wayne will be interred in Thunder Bay
