To the editor,

In 2023, Canadians faced an unprecedented cost-of-living crisis while billionaires and CEOs raked in record profits. In 2024, let’s do something about it.

Why should fossil fuel companies get to torch the planet for profit while we struggle to pay our bills? Why should our federal government subsidize the corporations that are responsible for the climate crisis while we are forced to shoulder the costly impacts of extreme weather?

Enough is enough. Cheap, clean, renewable energy is the key to a better future. Our governments need to stop propping up the volatile fossil fuel sector and start investing in a renewable energy transition that protects our planet and our wallets.
