Fun and education were at the heart of the LHA’s second annual Volunteer Recruitment Fair last Sunday.
With the recruitment of volunteers an increasingly difficult task for non-profits everywhere, the annual recruitment fair is an outgrowth of looking for new ways to attract volunteers.
Three new volunteers signed up this year, compared to five in 2018. The Auxiliary depends on the support of volunteers to carry out a range of services and programs, from working in the Thrift Store and Gift Shop, to delivering Meals on Wheels, preparing baby layettes, and making comfort pillows for mastectomy patients.
Since its inception in 1909, the Ladysmith Healthcare Auxiliary has donated over $6 million to support health- and wellness-related services and programs used by those in our community.
