Firefighters had to cut the roof off a pickup truck to help a driver who tipped her vehicle last week in Ladysmith.

Ladysmith Fire Rescue and B.C. Ambulance Service personnel were called to Davis Road on Friday, Sept. 23, just before noon and found a pickup on its side.

Ladysmith RCMP reported that the vehicle was travelling down the hill toward the highway when the crash occurred.

Firefighters had to cut part of the vehicle’s roof off to be able to extricate the 39-year-old driver. She was taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

RCMP say speed was a factor in the crash.
