Police have issued a province-wide warrant for local area man.

Colin Lamontagne, 39, is wanted in relation to charges of possession of a loaded handgun, and possession for the purposes of trafficking.

According to a release issued by the Nanaimo RCMP Monday, the charges stem from search warrants carried out in early December on homes in Ladysmith and Nanaimo. The searches resulted in the seizure of a significant amount of drugs, guns, weapons and stolen property.

“Lamontagne is from the Nanaimo area and has an extensive network of friends and family throughout central Vancouver Island. He is a white male who stands 6 ft. 2 in. and weighs 319 pounds,” the release states. “He has dark brown hair, blue eyes and may have a short stubble goatee. Lamontagne should be considered dangerous.”
