FOL director Greg Edwards approached company owner Doug West to have the Locie built.

“I like that it’s local history and the community has given us lots so we wanted to give back to the community,” West said.

Work started back in July with West and four others building it as time allowed.

West created the Tim Hortons cup and the diamond for Grant Jewellers as well as several trees over the years.

Restoration of the Comox Logging Company’s Locie #11 is being undertake by local volunteers.
