A victim is in stable condition after Wednesday’s head-on collision near Crofton, police say.
“As of last night, the victim is in stable condition in hospital,” an email from North Cowichan/Duncan Cpl. Jon Stuart says.
“Charges are pending ,and the investigation is continuing.”
One person was been airlifted to Victoria General Hospital following the serious accident near the Crofton Road and Hay Road intersection in Crofton shortly after 1 a.m., police said.
Stuart said the accident appeared to have been a “head-on” collision, and one of the passengers was initially trapped in their vehicle.
The extent of injuries, types of vehicles, and other details were not released by press time.
Stuart confirmed, however, one driver is being investigated for impaired driving.
