Who will be crowned Ladysmith Ambassador?

The Ladysmith Ambassadors coronation ceremony is this Saturday night at the Frank Jameson Community Centre.

The Ladysmith Ambassadors will end their eight-month journey this weekend during their annual coronation ceremony this Saturday at the Frank Jameson Community Centre at 7 p.m.

Since last fall, the 15 ambassadors have worked on personal development through the Ladysmith Toastmasters program, as well as volunteered their time at various events in the community. They are also subject to an extensive interview and must perform during a speech and talent night.

Through an independent judging process, three of the young women are chosen to represent Ladysmith as reigning Ambassadors  for the following year. The  Ambassadors spend time touring across the Island and the province to promote Ladysmith. Educational bursaries are awarded to the outgoing Ambassadors.

“As a committee, we feel fortunate and enjoy the opportunity to watch these young women grow and mature during the course of this eight-month program,” said Cheri Mactier, Ambassador committee member. “These 15 candidates are all winners, and we commend them for being a part of this journey!”

The coronation ceremony is open to the public. Tickets are $15 and are available at the door. Doors open at 6:30 p.m.
