Road Closure Bylaw No. 2120

Pursuant to Section 40(3) of the Community Charter, we advise you that Council will consider a bylaw to close a portion of the unnamed lane separating 621 & 631 1st Avenue to vehicle traffic.

When will this bylaw be considered?

Council will consider “Road Closure and Dedication Removal Bylaw2022, No. 2120” on January 10, 2023, at 7:00pm. Prior to consideration, anyone who considers they are affected by the bylaw may make representations to Council in person or by written submission.

Section of Road

The portion of lane subject to the closure is a 111m2 portion of lane connected to 1st Avenue and located between:

  • Lot A (Dd 65840n), Block 8, District Lot 56, Oyster District, Plan 703 Except That Part Lying to the South East of A Boundary Parallel to and Perpendicularly Distant 64 Feet From The South Easterly Boundary (621 1st Avenue); and
  • Parcel B (Being a Consolidation of Lots 9 & 10 See CA5603565)District Lot 56 Oyster District Plan 703 (631 1st Avenue).

What is the Proposal About?

If approved, Bylaw No. 2120 will close a 111m2 portion of lane to vehicle traffic.

Where Can I GetMore Information?

A copy of the proposed Bylaw and related information may be viewed at the Town of Ladysmith City Hall located at 410 Esplanade or the Development Services Office located at 132C Roberts Street, Ladysmith, BC, until October 25, 2022. The proposed Bylawand related information may be viewed: Monday to Friday 8:30am to 4:00pm, excluding statutory holidays. The Proposed Bylaw is also available at www.ladysmith.ca/publichearings.

How Do I Make a Submission to Council?

Those wishing to comment on the proposed bylawmay attend the Council meeting which will be held at the Ladysmith Senior Centre at 630 2nd Avenue.

If you are unable to attend the Council meeting, written submissions can also be provided. If received by Noon, January 4, 2023, written submissions will be included in the Council agenda. Written submissions should be sent to Town of Ladysmith, PO Box 220, Ladysmith, BC V9G 1A2 or by Email to info@ladysmith.ca. Written submissions can be accepted at City Hall until 4pm on January 10, 2023, or during the Council meeting up to final consideration of the bylaw. Please be advised that the content of submissions will be made public and form a part of the public record.
