It is with deep sorrow that the family of Audrey Marie Berger (nee Thomson), of Ladysmith, B.C., announces her passing on August 16th, 2023.
Audrey is predeceased by her husband John Berger, sisters Betty Turner and Margaret Liptak and brothers Jack Thomson and William Thomson.
She leaves behind her five children - John Berger, Cindy Huber, David Berger, Karen Kardos (Dave Pelletier) and Janis Berger; her two grandsons Jason Berger and Ryan Hilding; her great-granddaughter McKayla Lestage; her twin sister Anne Paul and her family; and many other family members from Vancouver Island and across Canada to Ontario and Quebec.
Audrey was born in Nanaimo and lived in Cedar while growing up. She joined the Air Force when she was 20, met and married John Berger in 1953 while stationed in Claresholm and eventually moved to Ladysmith to run a successful business for many years. She also worked in the banking industry in Nanaimo, Black Diamond Alberta, and Ladysmith for many years, retiring in 1993. She loved to travel and was a very strong-willed woman with an enormous heart. She will be greatly missed.
There will be a Celebration of her Life at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, September 12th, 2023, at the Ladysmith Legion on 1st Avenue.
