Betty Margaret (nee Biart) SPURLING

June 27, 2005

Died peacefully in her sleep on June 27, 2005, at Arranglen Gardens, Qualicum Beach, B.C. Betty Spurling was born October 19, 1917 in Uckfield, England to Eugene Biart and Mildred Ewing. She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Frank, and is survived by her sisters, Barbara Henderson and Bunty Ellis and brother, Brian (Bim) Biart, and her two sons, Brian Spurling (husband of Pam Bjornson) and Geoffrey (husband of Joanna Spurling and father of Nicolas). Betty was a long-term resident of Ladysmith, a community that she loved with all her heart. Known locally as the Roadrunner, Betty was very active in the Thrift Store, the Hospital Auxillary, and the OAP. She was fun-loving, kindhearted, and generous; she always looked on the bright side and found the best in others. Betty was much loved and will be terribly missed by her family and many friends.

A memorial service will be held at 1:00 pm, Saturday, July 2, 2005 at St. John's Anglican Church, Ladysmith. In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of B.C. Special thanks to the wonderful staff at Arranglen who made Betty's last years such happy ones.
