(Bud) Sidney Elsworth

Passed away peacefully at the Holmstead, July 4, 2002 with his best friend and devoted wife Carolyn at his side. He will be sadly missed but joyfully remembered by his sister Gloria, children, Leanna, Dana, Sheryl, Russell and step-son Scott, grandchildren Matthew, Jared, Amber, Marina, Aaron, Hanna and Molly, great-grandchildren Danyelle, Tyler and Curtis, nieces Claire and Janice, nephews Warren, Murray and many aunts, uncles and cousins.

Bud was born September 23, 1931 to Joseph and Tekla Holm in New Norway, Alberta and came to B.C. in 1948 as a lad to finally settle in Victoria, B.C. where he became a dedicated musician and salesman “extraordinaire”. He also spent many years at 100 Mile House, B.C., with his “Big Country Music” store and band mates, to finally settle down with Carolyn in his happy home in Cassidy, B.C., where he was for 7 years the Manager of Cassidy Mobile Home Park. Some of his accomplishments included creating the first Mustang Car Club of B.C., Charter Member of the Ladysmith Maritime Society, Charter Member of the Ladysmith Yacht Club, member Mt. Brenton Power & Sail Squadron, Affiliate member R.C. Legion #171, Fraternal Order of Eagles #2101, and patron of the Boys and Girls Club of Ladysmith. He enjoyed fishing, tennis, golf, major league baseball, NHL hockey and messing about in boats. He was a loving husband, father and grandpa, and great grandpa, faithful friend and gave generously to those in need. His never ending humour and creative music ability will be cherished and remembered by all who knew him and loved him. Till we meet again. A special thanks to family and friends who have had BUD in their thoughts and prayers. Would like to thank Dr. Buckley, Dr. Cline and Dr . Chris Fritsch for their professionalism and comfort.

A celebration of BUD'S life will be held on Friday, July 12, 2002 at 1:00 p.m., at the Eagles Hall on First Ave. in Ladysmith. FLowers are gratefully declined in favour of donations to the “Boys & Girls Club of Ladysmith”, Box 189, Ladysmith, B.C. V9G 1A2. Arrangements entrusted to Telford’s Mortuary.
