We are sad to announce the passing of Cecile Francis Edes on Aug 24th, 2023, at the age of eighty. Cecile was born in Chiteck Lake, Saskatchewan on Oct 4, 1942, the sixth child of Marie-Jeanne and Leon Pilon.
She moved to B.C. in her early twenties to help family and in 1966 married Leroy Edes. The couple moved to Nanaimo where they started their family and later moved to Yellow Point where they remained until her passing.
Cecile loved helping her community out volunteering at North Oyster elementary school, coaching gymnastics, and working as a teaching assistant for school district sixty-eight until her retirement.
She is pre-deceased by her parents, brothers Paul, Norbert, and Gilbert sister Berthe and little grandson Jacob.
She leaves to mourn her husband of 56 years Leroy, daughters Sherry, Michelle (Tyson), Sandra (Scott) grandchildren Cole, Paige, Emily, Larissa, Gavin, two brothers Louie and Raymond and many nieces and nephews.
In Lieu of flowers the family has asked that a donation to the Heart and Stroke Foundation be made in her name.
A Celebration of life will happen on Oct 14th, 2023 @ 1:00 pm, Eagle's Hall, 921 1st Ave, Ladysmith, B.C.
