Passed away suddenly in Nanaimo, B.C. on April 11, 2003, born in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, November 30, 1920, late resident of Ladysmith, B.C. Charlie was a veteran of WWII, a member of the R.C.L. Branch 171. He retired from MacMillan Bloedel sawmill Chemainus in 1982. He was an ardent bowler, fisherman, boater, golfer, hunter and camper. Charlie was predeceased by his first wife Jessie, also 4 brothers and 2 sisters. Survived by his loving wife Bertha, 2 sons: Fred (Shirley), Dennis (Kathy), daughter Helen (Bob), grandchildren: Jim, Dale, Scott, Cory, Ryan, Kim, Kerry, Deana, Novah, Jody, Casey, Robin, Tara. Great-grandchildren: Alexandra, Scott, Tanner, Alex, Tia, Alyssa, Lutoiya, Randa, Alissia, Christine, Tarriyanna, Patrick, Krystal and Savannah, great great grandchildren: Jaden and Cylis, Step-children: Lois (Larry), Bob (Karen), Rhett (Kay) and Lorraine, step-grandchildren: Stephen, Karla, Jesse and Brooks, two sisters Mabel and Millie and one brother Everett, also nieces, nephews and cousins. A celebration of Charlie’s life was held on Thursday, April 17, 2003 at 2;00 pm in the R.C.L Branch 171. Ladysmith, B.C. Padres Lloyd Hooper and Brian Wood officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Branch 171 R.C.L. in his memory would be appreciated. Arrangements entrusted to Telford’s Mortuary.
