Born in Huddersfield England September 18, 1924. Evelyn was a member and Past President of R.C.L. Branch 171. She was also Past Zone Commander and currently Deputy Zone Commander for the Cowichan Mid-Island Zone R.C.L.


She was a Girl Guide Commissionair, active in “Lifeline”, and a board member of the Handicapped Society in Ladysmith.


Predeceased by her loving husband Eric December 31, 1994. Survived by her daughters: Gail Thurston (Mike), Janet Thompson (Ron), sons: Alan Thompson (Janet) Keith (Glenna) Thompson. Grandchildren: Neil, Wade, Karen, Jennifer, Aron, Delaine, Christopher and Corrina; great grandchildren Brooklyn and Eric. Funeral Service was held Saturday, July 6, 2002 at 3:00 p.m. in St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Ladysmith, Rev. Rosalind Westway and Rev. Lloyd Hooper officiating, interment to follow in the Ladysmith Cemetery. Special thanks to Dr. Chris Fritsch and nurses & staff at Ladysmith General Hospital.
