at her home is Yellow Point, B.C. on May 24, 2002 after a brief illness. Born in Czechoslovakia, January 27, 1943. Emmy came to Canada in 1963, married Carl in 1964, and moved to Vancouver Island in 1965. She was a member of the German Canadian Club, and was employed with the Nanaimo Home Support. Predeceased by her brother Jack Gutz 1993 and niece Debbie Gutz in 1983. Survived by her loving husband Karl, daughter Linda (Dwayne) Maslen, son Norman, grandchildren; Anthony, Rebecca, Eric and Cassandra, also Cathy, Brother Edwin, sister Irma, also nieces and nephews. Service will be held Tuesday, May 28, 2002 at 11:00 a.m. in the Ladysmith Eagle’s Hall, Pastor L. Gates officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations to the “Help Fill A Dream” Fund would be ap-preciated. Special thanks to nurses and staff of the 3rd and 5th floor of the Nanaimo Hospital, to the Nanaimo Home Support; Marge, Tammy, Pam and Lynn. Home Care Nurse Shirley, Dr. C Fritsch, Dr. H.
