In Loving Memory ~

It is with very heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Frank Crucil (Dad/Papa) at the age of eighty-nine on January 9, 2024 with his loving family by his side. Frank was an amazing husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, friend, leader and mentor.

Born in Chemainus, BC, he was one of twelve children and the son of Italian immigrants Francesco and Mary Crucil. He and his family moved to Ladysmith when he was a young boy, where he became a proud contributing community member.

In 1953, Frank married the love of his life and best friend Evelyn Irvine, and together they raised four children and were married for seventy years.

Frank grew up in a logging family, and worked in a variety of sectors throughout his career, including Forestry, Construction and Electrical. He set a fine example of what is achievable when we roll up our sleeves, and work hard. He modelled a strong work ethic and a zest for life.

Frank was a long-time member and past president of the Eagles Aerie #2101. Together with Ev, they enjoyed many years of friendship, travel, and activities. He was never shy to offer his opinion whether you liked it or not.....which he was usually right .

He shared his love of the outdoors through Cubs, hunting, fishing, gardening, and camping with his loved ones and long-time friends, the Defranes.

Frank was pre-deceased by his son Ron, in 1988.

He is survived by his wife, Evelyn, Sister, Ann, Children, Linda, Frank (Mindy), Mike (Lisa), Grandchildren, Aaron, Andrea, Karl, Shawn, Jaime, Neil, Jeannette, Courtenay, Alissa, Stefan, and Great Grandchildren, Elijah, Saul, Ava, Ari, Hayley, Norah, and Victoria, and his dog Marley.

The family wishes to thank the Emergency and Palliative Care Staff at NRGH for their compassionate care over the last month, as well as the team at Just Like Family and Long Lake Chateau. At Frank's request, there will not be a service.

Frank lived a long and healthy life up until the end. He was so proud of his wife, and family through which he has left a beautiful legacy that will live on through all of them.
